I had a very interesting experiences around this reflection.
I was in a cafe and looking at the space between me, all the people, and had this sense that we were, I guess you could say, a “compost heap”, or rather that, when looking at the space, that there was no space at all, and we one in the same.
I was looking at the “space within” and didn’t have much sense of that.
But I did also have this connection to the idea or space and time, and just this sense that all time is actually now. Just this weird sense of … I remember being a child and suddenly I’m 27, and the realization that all of a sudden I will be 50 and then all of a sudden I will also be dead. Time is inevitable, and all of its inevitability is built into the present moment.
Thats all for now <3 Vanessa
The Tarot Card I drew for a spirit guide was: The Tower.
Instrument of power: In a previous Hero’s Journey retreat I had a blue Topaz ring, which I will keep as an instrument of power.
The face of my demon looks like my dad, but I want to redraw this.
The Tower is interesting to me because it seems like a “sudden” occurance rather than an ongoing spirit guide. I will be asking Sensei what this can look like ongoing through the year!
The homework from the Hero Journey class on the 31st was:
1. Draw a Tarot Card from the Major Arcana that will be your Spirit Guide for the next year
2. Choose an instrument of power. It can be anything.
3. Draw the face of your demon. This is the demon that you usually project onto others, the demon that worries “what’s going to happen to me?” if you should override the ego.
4. Hold a light meditation on a 3 of the above.
I did a tarot spread after the class and asked the question “Where am I at in my relationship with Clear Sky?”
I drew the
2 of swords for the past
3 of cups for present
and 3 of pentacles for future
We didnt really go into minor arcana in the class but I did find out that 2 of swords talks about conflict under the surface … which is nice to have in the past!!! And 3 of cups is a very positive card about abundance and community. I would agree right now I feel really supported by what involvement in Clear Sky has done for me. Karma Yoga and Dharma Training is a huge anchor in my life.
and future 3 pentacles means that I am doing work that is appreciated by others, and that I feel is of value. 😀
Very positive spread 🙂
Nice Ries, thanks for sharing your constitution, that is cool to see.
It’s striking that you have full awakening first. Seeing that intrigues me because I would expect to have put that first myself but realize I wouldn’t put that first. I would put something like “truth” or “love” or “compassion” first. And I realize that I actually associate awakening with the word “truth”. Awakening doesn’t mean much for me which is interesting.
That is very interesting that you have 4 of wands for what you need to answer in the future (not sure if that is how you would describe that card) and the past for your relationship. Not sure if those are related at all.
Merci Cara! I liked how it said writing a constitution is about engagement, and happiness is a byproduct of engagement.
Hi Andrew! That definitely sounds like a positive potential of Aries. I am not sure how much Aries is looking to “inspire” others. That might just be a lucky byproduct, because they seem like a very individualistic sign. However I will say that I am personally often inspired by Aries people in my life and their enthusiasm and initiative.
Hi everyone! I found this week’s class very awe-inspiring. From the amazing wisdom that has been passed down through both generation and even different traditions. I have a bit of a mental model about Western Mysteries, and Tantra practice included, that it’s honkey dorey imagination, but I am also seeing that there is this vast well of knowledge that is a bit intimidating because, maybe kind of like dharma, once you get started it has the potential to go a lot deeper.
Here is another Cabala-Tarot image that Maya found:

Hi Andrea! Very interesting, I find I can be similar in the home environment. I think the plus side is to learn to be diplomatic when being assertive rather than aggressive.
What do you mean you can’t answer “from the other side?” Do you mean from Aries | The Lessons ?
Hi Andrea! Very cool that you were able to associate a person with these qualities. It’s cool how we can represent archetypes for other people, like in dreams.
Hey Andrea! I wonder what house your Aries is in? Do you notice the areas of your life where you charge forward even when no one else does?
Interesting thing I’ve noticed Mo around people who have Sun Signs in Leo is that 1. they like a certain type of attention, and when they get that kind of attention they bask in it, and their enjoyment in the attention makes them charismatic. I think when you enjoy attention you probably draw more of that to yourself!
Hi Mo! Cool that you listed your response to the words. That is helpful, I find that exercise insightful as well. It’s also really curious that your north node is Cancer, and there is confusion in this area. Do you feel confusion in general where you need to move forward in life? With Love, Van
Hey Michelle! Cool i have Aires in 4th house too. Martin said that could come out as being aggressive in home matters … I dont see that shadow for you much?
Also thanks for the question, I think maybe similar to you I have some resistance to cancer principles … there is some guilt there around taking care of myself too much, and “settling down” like I am being indulgent.
